Squeak the Squirrel - 1957

"Shows how a gold-mantled ground squirrel at Crater Lake National Park has learned to solve problems connected with getting food. Illustrates how an animal can learn to find food that is hidden from view or out of reach.

"This is one of the AV Geeks favorite films, mostly because Squeak is somewhat of a working class hero who, in spite of what obstacles "the Man" puts in his way, always perseveres.

Earthshaker

"In 1979, two hikers in the Ojito Wilderness Area northwest of of Albuquerque made a colossal find. Surrounded by pinon pines and ancient petroglyphs, four huge, largely intact fossilized dinosaur tailbones were discovered partially exposed in a sandstone ledge. The size of the bones created enormous excitement and had a significant impact on our understanding of dinosaurs - at 120 feet, the Seismosaurus, later dubbed Sam, was perhaps the longestd dinosaur ever discovered! For the next 25 years the mystery of Seismosaurus unraveled. In 2005 Sam made his public debut at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. In addition, the use of new technology from the Los Alamos National Laboratories vaulted palenontology out of the dark ages by pioneering new techniques to find and analyze dinosaur bones.

"Produced in collaboration with the New Mexico Natural History and Science Museum and originally broadcast on New Mexico PBS station KNME-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico."

The Ultimate Predator: The Liger - L'Ultime Prédateur: Le Ligre

This Liger is the product of a male lion and a female tiger. Happily, as is always the case with hybrids (like mules), this animal is sterile. When crossing a male tiger with a female lion, the result is a Tigon, which has the same size as its parents.
